Husqvarna Releases Solar/Electric Hybrid Lawn Mower
Spring is in the air and that means sessions with the lawn mower are just around the corner. I can think of about 100 things I would rather do than push a
mower in circles so I’m glad that the engineers at Huaqvarna have similar views on yard work.
The company has just unveiled what is perhaps the perfect yard device, a self managed mower that is powered by a solar/electric hybrid motor. Similar to the non-solar Robomower from Friendly Robotics, this sweet little mower spends its days cruising around the yard in irregular patterns cutting the grass so you can use for weekends for more interesting pursuits. No word on pricing.

Husqvarna had tried this mower several years ago and it flopped. Maybe with rising gas prices it will do better? It still has to go back to the charging base every 45 mintues to charge for 45 minutes.
I hear LawnBott is working on a competely solar powered docking station. The mower itself will not be solor powered.
In other words, it will be totally free of need for household current.
Robot mower companies are really going Green.
