In one of the most contentious battles of this politically charged year, the Denver host committee of the Democratic National Convention is coming under attack for wanting to serve healthy organic food instead of fried food favored by some southerners. Evidently, trying to offer healthy food during the convention is just not acceptable.

Some of the requirements contained in the RFP (request for proposal) that went out to local caterers include:

• Half of the meal must be made up of fruits and/or veggies
• No fried items (not even deep fried Twinkies?)
• 70% of ingredients must be organic and/or grown in Colorado
